As AI features move into everyday products, frontend engineering is taking on a broader responsibility. We are not just rendering outputs anymore. We are building interfaces that explain uncertainty, show intermediate progress, support tool results, and help users understand when the system is acting on their behalf.
That means the best frontend engineers now need stronger instincts around product behavior, state lifecycles, streaming UI, permissions, and trust. A polished loading state or approval step can matter as much as the underlying model quality.
In that sense, AI is not replacing frontend craft. It is expanding it.
